Tigers Take Down Cyclones, 5-2
Connecticut starter Phil Gibbs had a strong outing against the Brooklyn Cyclones at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. The Tigers saw their record improve to 9-22.

The Cyclones had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Tigers going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Mike Grogg came to the plate. Grogg hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-0 fastball from Brooklyn hurler Eli Adams. It was Grogg's 3rd triple of the year.

Gibbs attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
