The Williamsport Crosscutters got a sterling performance from pitcher Greg Harlow, but the West Virginia Black Bears still prevailed, 4-2. Harlow threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Arturo Flores picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Mike Sweigart was tagged with the loss. The Black Bears saw their record improve to 10-21.

West Virginia used a well-timed hit by David Burks to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Black Bears ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Burks told the West Virginia Citizen.
