Scrappers Collect 4-3 Win Over Doubledays
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers wiggled past the Auburn Doubledays, 4-3, at Falcon Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Mahoning Valley pitcher Willie Alvarez. Mahoning Valley is now 18-14, while Auburn is 14-18.

Mahoning Valley used the timely hitting of Nate Franz to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Scrappers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team found a way to get it done," said Franz.
