The Aberdeen Ironbirds had to overcome a good performance from Connecticut pitcher Tony Ramos to claim a 3-2 win at Ripken Stadium. Ramos went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Bobby Olvera picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Danny Reyes was tagged with the loss. Jeff Gifford locked down his 2nd save.

Aberdeen took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Ben Mazariego hit a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Ironbirds.

"Nice to get this one," said Mazariego. "Wins have been hard to come by."

Aberdeen is now 9-24, while Connecticut is 12-21.
