The Connecticut Tigers topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-2, in New York-Penn League action at Centennial Field. The standout performance belonged to Connecticut pitcher and Moca, Dominican Republic, native Jesus Henriquez. Henriquez, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up no walks. The Tigers saw their record improve to 19-15.

Connecticut won the game in part because of Mike O'Neal. The first baseman ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tigers ahead, 4-2. For the game, O'Neal had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
