Scrappers Snatch Late Win
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers topped the State College Spikes, 3-1, in New York-Penn League action at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Mahoning Valley pitcher Ben Mills. Mahoning Valley pitcher Lindsay Nickerson got the win. He's now 3-0. Angelo Navarrete was tagged with the loss. The second-place Scrappers have won 8 in a row.

Mahoning Valley used a timely hit from Scott Durfee to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Scrappers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We're just feeding off each other right now," said Mills.
