Renegades Beat Lake Monsters, 4-0
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-0, in New York-Penn League action at Centennial Field. The standout performance belonged to Hudson Valley pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Jake Stinnett. Stinnett, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. The first-place Renegades bumped their record to 29-5.
Making an impact for Hudson Valley was shortstop Huai-yu Zhang. He drilled a double off Bruce Caruso in the top of the fifth. For the game, Zhang was 1 for 4 with a double.
"Jake was really on it," said Hudson Valley manager Marquise Woods. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
