State College Spikes starter Mike McKim turned in an exceptional performance against the West Virginia Black Bears at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, resulting in a State College win, 11-2. McKim yielded 2 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-2. The second-place Spikes have won 5 in a row.

Rafael Luque had a big 2-run double for the Spikes in the bottom of the third inning. With State College leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Willie Marmol and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spikes ahead, 3-0.

"They just got us," said West Virginia manager Alex Barahona, "and that's all I can say."
