Montoya Delivers Walk-Off Win for ValleyCats
Joseph L. Bruno Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Auburn Doubledays and Tri-City ValleyCats.

In a tight game between the Tri-City ValleyCats and the Auburn Doubledays, pitcher Bryan Molle was terrific on the mound. The Tri-City right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Tri-City reliever John Ryan picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Sam Payne shouldered the loss.

Tony Montoya was the walk-off hero for Tri-City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the ValleyCats left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Alexis Garcia.

The first-place ValleyCats have a record of 19-17.
