Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Reilly
The Connecticut Tigers weathered an outstanding game by Mahoning Valley center fielder Mark Reilly to topple the Scrappers, 9-6. Reilly went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Orlando Vigil earned the save, his 5th. The setback makes Mahoning Valley 20-16.

Connecticut used the timely hitting of Ian Riddle to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tigers on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Riddle told the Connecticut Gazette.
