The Portland Sea Dogs got a sterling performance from pitcher Mark Wike, but the Erie SeaWolves still prevailed, 7-4. Wike threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. With the win, Erie lifts its record to 12-8.

Erie used the clutch hitting of Steve Bruno to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the SeaWolves ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said SeaWolves manager Frank Hennessy.
