Cyclones Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades got a sterling performance from first baseman Jim Rogers, but the Brooklyn Cyclones still prevailed, 4-3. Rogers went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brooklyn reliever Ryan Parker snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Robby Pieklo shouldered the loss. Donzel Scorsese earned the save for Brooklyn, his 4th.
With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning, left fielder John Rice delivered big for the Cyclones. Brooklyn was trailing 3-0 when he belted a 3-run home run.
Rice called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
With this game in the books, Brooklyn is 24-13, Hudson Valley 18-19.
