Muckdogs Beat West Virginia, 6-5
|
Though he had a terrific game, Danny Flores could not prevent his team, the West Virginia Black Bears, from absorbing a loss. Batavia won the game, 6-5. Flores was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Batavia win streak is now 3 games.
It could have been a different outcome for Batavia, had it not been for Alex Junco, the 22-year old center fielder . Junco contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Batavia up, 4-3.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Muckdogs manager Pat Gilman.
