Streaking Renegades Win Another One, 6-3
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades picked up a win at Dutchess Stadium, taking down the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 6-3. Starting pitcher Rusty Allen was a big reason why. The first-place Renegades have won 11 in a row.
Alex Mendoza had a big 2-run double for the Renegades in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Hudson Valley leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Miguel Gonzalez and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Renegades ahead, 3-0.
"Rusty -- I just love the competitor in him," said Renegades manager Marquise Woods.
