Victory Over Ironbirds Takes Mahoning Valley to 26-13
Mahoning Valley registered a win at Ripken Stadium by beating the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 7-0. Pitcher J.P. O'Kelley was one reason why the Scrappers triumphed. With the win, the Scrappers have a record of 26-13.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Troy Gomez? The Mahoning Valley first baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Scrappers on top, 3-0. For the game, Gomez had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Mahoning Valley manager Ramiro Tobar. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
