The home crowd had a good time watching the Brooklyn Cyclones and Vermont Lake Monsters get after it.

Vermont starter Bruce Caruso put the Brooklyn offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Lake Monsters to a 4-1 win. At 11-28, the Lake Monsters find themselves in last place in the Stedler Division.

Vermont took a 4-1 lead on Troy Williams's 5th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Williams hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Brooklyn pitcher Josh Edwards visibly frustrated.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Lake Monsters manager Dana Joseph, "I like our chances."
