Spikes Win, 7-0, as Pitts Mystifies Lowell
Wayne Pitts had an impressive outing at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, hurling the State College Spikes to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Lowell Spinners.

"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Lowell skipper Mike Palmer said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."

On the day, the right-handed Pitts yielded 7 hits and tallied 8 strikeouts with no walks.
