Gomez, ValleyCats Get 3-1 Win
|
Not everyone stuck through the 49-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Tri-City rode a fine outing from starter Juan Gomez to victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The final score was 3-1. The ValleyCats improve their record to 26-13 with the win over Vermont.
Gomez, who dominated for Tri-City, earned the victory to move to 4-2. He was in control the whole game, scattering 1 hit over 7 innings, while striking out 4. Vermont batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Gomez told the Tri-City Herald.
