Aberdeen beat Brooklyn on the strength of starting pitcher Brian Gilmer's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-0. Robby Stamm notched his 3rd save of the season. Aberdeen has a record of 30-10, placing them first in the McNamara Division.

The Ironbirds got a big hit from third baseman Tom McLeish. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Trevor Owen in the bottom of the fifth, McLeish pounded a 2-run home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season put the Ironbirds ahead, 2-0.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Gilmer.
