4-1 Triumph Runs ValleyCats Streak to 11 Games
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-1, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Starting pitcher John Kelling was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Jared Rumsey wrapped it up, recording his 1st save. Tri-City, having won 11 in a row, is now 25-15.
Daniel Penley hit a 2-run triple off Dan Manning in the bottom of the fourth, which put the ValleyCats in front, 2-1. Penley had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"This game is about whoever is putting up more runs," said ValleyCats manager Alex Ordonez. "Simple as that."
