Ryan Elder was a major contributor to the 6-4 Tri-City win over Brooklyn. The ValleyCats shortstop went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. Tri-City reliever Roy Ratcliffe was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ricardo Guzman. The ValleyCats move to 23-18 with the win, while the Cyclones drop to 24-17.

Tri-City took a 6-4 lead on Elder's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Jimmy Belding in the top of the eighth, propelled Tri-City to the win.

"Nice win for us," said Elder. "Now we'll go after the next one."
