Ironbirds Come Back Late to Clip Yankees
Staten Island designated hitter Herb McGaughey was sensational. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Aberdeen beat the Yankees, 5-4. Aberdeen reliever Alex Lujan was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. The last-place Ironbirds go to 11-31.

Aberdeen used a clutch hit from Ossie Morales to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ironbirds ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Winning never gets old," said Morales.
