Tigers Beat Lake Monsters, 5-3
|
Cole May, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2105 draft, had a strong outing for the Connecticut Tigers against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was May, now 2-0. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Wiel Kerkvliet locked down his 2nd save.
Pat Hendrickson had a big 2-run home run for the Tigers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Connecticut leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Ryan Hutter and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Tigers on top, 5-2.
"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said May.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 19-23.
