The State College Spikes beat the West Virginia Black Bears, 6-0, at Russell Diethrick Park. The Spikes got a fine performance from center fielder David Pray, who went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. State College is now 20-22, while West Virginia is 12-30.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Pray hit a solo home run to put his team ahead.
Pray expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
