Spinners, Bracero Deal Yankees 3-1 Setback
|
Lowell and Staten Island played a hard-fought contest.
In a low-scoring contest between the Lowell Spinners and the Staten Island Yankees, Miguel Bracero, who is tied for 3rd in the NYP with a 11.5 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Lowell right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Spinners win. Danny Ayala nailed down his 2nd save.
The Yankees had little chance against Bracero, who overpowered Staten Island hitters and struck out 11.
"Miguel had electric stuff," said Lowell manager Mike Medlock.
The last-place Spinners lifted their record to 20-22.
