Black Bears Handed 5-1 Loss by Auburn
|
The Auburn Doubledays converted a terrific effort from starter Brenden Allison into a win over the West Virginia Black Bears at Falcon Park. The Doubledays won the game by a final score of 5-1. Chris Ragsdale snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Manny Mejia suffered the loss. Auburn occupies 5th place in the Pinckney Division at 17-25.
The Doubledays got a big hit from right fielder Steve DeLuca. In the bottom of the sixth, DeLuca smacked a 2-run triple off West Virginia pitcher Manny Mejia. It was his 2nd triple of the season. Suddenly, the Doubledays were ahead, 2-1.
Auburn manager Carlos Lugo commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
