Muckdogs Get 3-0 Win Versus Williamsport
|
Pitcher Matt Stringfellow was sensational for the Batavia Muckdogs in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Stringfellow picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Cory Lankford closed the door for Batavia, picking up his 7th save of the year. Even with the win, the Muckdogs have a dismal 10-32 record.
The Crosscutters had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Muckdogs going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old third baseman Steve Roose came to the plate. Roose hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 slider from Williamsport hurler Jake Conti. It was Roose's 4th home run of the year.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Stringfellow told the Batavia Today.
