Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Doubledays
In the 5-3 Auburn win over State College, the impact of Matthew Lizaso was substantial. Lizaso was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Andres Ruiz picked up the win in relief for Auburn, while Marcos McDermott took the loss. Jose Loya earned the save, his 1st, for the Doubledays.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Guadalupe Quiroz came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing State College pitcher Marcos McDermott, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Auburn on top, 5-3.

"Good win for us," said Quiroz. "Now we'll focus on the next one."

The second-place Doubledays sport a record of 29-14.
