Cyclones Winners, 3-1, at Ripken Stadium

The Brooklyn Cyclones downed the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 3-1, at Ripken Stadium. Stellar pitching by Carlos Hernandez had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. David Silva picked up the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year. At 27-16, the Cyclones have a slim two-game lead in the McNamara Division.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from catcher Thomas Laviosa. For the game, Laviosa was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Brooklyn a 3-1 lead.
Laviosa attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
