Tigers Score Late to Beat ValleyCats, 4-3
|
Tri-City got a valiant performance from pitcher Cory Gonzalez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Connecticut Tigers. Connecticut won the game, 4-3. Gonzalez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Germão La Caille earned the save, his 4th. Connecticut, at 26-18, holds down third place in the Stedler Division.
Connecticut took a 4-2 lead on Mike O'Neal's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which O'Neal hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Tri-City pitcher Greg Linton visibly frustrated.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said O'Neal. "Obviously."
