The Auburn Doubledays faced a tough opponent in State College pitcher Trent Berry, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park by a final score of 3-2. Berry went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win has Auburn at 18-26.
Auburn used the timely hitting of Joaquin Reyes to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Doubledays on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"These kind of wins can be so good for a club's psyche," Auburn manager Taylor Frank said.
