ValleyCats 5-0 Victors Over Renegades
|
Frank Towle was nothing short of phenomenal for the Tri-City ValleyCats. The 21-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 5-0. Towle, now 2-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 12, walking 1, and allowing no runs. After today's action, Tri-City sits at 19-25, while Hudson Valley falls to 19-25.
Tri-City used the hitting of Ramon Ybarra to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the ValleyCats on top, 3-0. For the game, Ybarra had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Tri-City manager Alex Ordonez. "That's what Frank is right now."
