The Staten Island Yankees had to overcome a fine effort from Vermont pitcher Melvin Juarez to win, 6-4, at Centennial Field. Juarez went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Sonny Davidson earned the save for Staten Island, his 1st of the year. With the win, the Yankees are 12-33.

Brian Eubanks hit a 2-run triple off Bill Peffer in the top of the eighth, which put the Yankees in front, 6-4. In addition to the triple, Eubanks had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

Staten Island manager Tyler Ebert was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
