Scrappers Earn Late 3-2 Win
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers, despite a fine performance by Aberdeen pitcher Carlos Lucero, grabbed a 3-2 win at Eastwood Field. Lucero allowed 1 run over 6.1 innings. After today's action, Mahoning Valley sits at 31-14, while Aberdeen falls to 26-19.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Scrappers left fielder Nick Schmidt hit a fastball from David Castaneda for a 2-run single. Just like that, Mahoning Valley was up, 3-2.

"We busted our tails," said Aberdeen manager Josh Ouderkirk. "But we came up short."
