Cyclones Deal Black Bears 3-1 Setback
|
The rain did not keep Brooklyn and West Virginia from finishing their game.
Brooklyn beat West Virginia on the strength of starting pitcher Mark Peterson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. The winner was Peterson. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Dave Bradley.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from right fielder Javier Revollar. For the game, Revollar went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
"I executed the game plan," said Peterson.
The Cyclones, at 23-22, sit in third place in the McNamara Division.
