ValleyCats Saddle Muckdogs with 5-1 Loss
At Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, the Batavia Muckdogs and Tri-City ValleyCats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Tri-City ValleyCats topped the Batavia Muckdogs, 5-1, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Tri-City designated hitter Eduardo Vargas was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 4 with a double. The triumph puts Tri-City at 28-17 for the season.

Mario Alvarado had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Tri-City. With the bases loaded and the ValleyCats leading 1-0, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Alvarado.
