|
Starting pitcher A.J. Wayne did his part in helping the Vermont Lake Monsters thwart the Hudson Valley Renegades, 3-1. The win elevated the Lake Monsters to 28-17.
Vermont relied on the hitting of Chris Martens to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 3-0. For the game, Martens had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Wayne said, "and we're having fun right now."
