Behind the hitting of Chris Kammerer, the Tri-City ValleyCats stopped the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 6-5, in 11 innings. Kammerer went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the ValleyCats. Elard Spierenburg got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. The ValleyCats saw their record improve to 22-24.

The ValleyCats got a clutch hit from first baseman Danny Hartey. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the ValleyCats.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Tri-City manager Eddie DiGiovine.
