The Staten Island Yankees faced a tough opponent in Hudson Valley pitcher Rusty Allen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Richmond County Bank Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Allen went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Staten Island pitcher Sonny Davidson got the win. He's now 2-1. Robby Pieklo was tagged with the loss. The last-place Yankees improved to 13-33.

The Yankees got a clutch hit from center fielder Juan Velasco. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Yankees.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Tyler Ebert, the Staten Island skipper.
