Renegades Win, 4-2, Versus Brooklyn
|
Hudson Valley registered a win at Dutchess Stadium by beating the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-2. Pitcher Scott Peterson was one reason why the Renegades triumphed. The first-place Renegades are now 39-7, the Cyclones 23-23.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Huai-yu Zhang came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Brett Danielsen, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hudson Valley on top, 3-2.
"I like winning," Zhang told the Hudson Valley Today. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
