The Connecticut Tigers got a superb performance from pitcher Robby Crowell, but the Lowell Spinners still won the game, 6-3. Crowell threw 5.2 innings allowing 4 runs. Lowell is now 30-16, Connecticut 24-22.

Lowell center fielder Steve Slaughter contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Spinners ahead, 5-3.

"The more wins we pile up," said Slaughter, "the more I like our chances."
