The Lowell Spinners topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3, in New York-Penn League action at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lowell pitcher Jose Hoyos. Jaylen Moody earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 4-2. The Spinners are now 23-23, while the Lake Monsters fall to 30-16.

Felipe Fuentes went 1-3 for Lowell. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jon O'Connor. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Lowell manager Mike Palmer.
