Win Streak Now at 11 for Scrappers
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Samppa Osterbur, the State College Spikes lost to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 8-4. Osterbur went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The first-place Scrappers improved to 37-10.

Matt Beard aided the Mahoning Valley cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"I like the roll we're on right now," said Beard after the game.
