Lake Monsters Come Up Short at Hudson Valley, 6-5
|
Hudson Valley beat Vermont at Dutchess Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Chris Castaneda. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The second-place Renegades sport a record of 33-14.
In the bottom of the sixth, Hudson Valley catcher Bobby Schmidt put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 8th double of the year. Vermont pitcher Mario Lausell served it up. Just like that, the Renegades were ahead, 6-5.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Schmidt.
