Ironbirds Losers, 7-3, to Mahoning Valley
|
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers finished off the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 7-3. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Ronnie Brents. Brents was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Scrappers. Mahoning Valley is now 23-25, Aberdeen 33-15.
Mahoning Valley used the timely hitting of Josh Mills to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scrappers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Mills said.
