Chadwell Excels, West Virginia Blows Out Brooklyn
The West Virginia Black Bears bombarded the Brooklyn Cyclones, 13-3, at MCU Park. Leading the blitz was Rich Chadwell. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for West Virginia. Dusty DeBruler snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Wulf van Vliet suffered the loss. West Virginia sits in first place in the Pinckney Division at 32-16.

With West Virginia leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Chadwell hit a fastball from Wulf van Vliet for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Black Bears ahead, 6-3.

Brooklyn manager Bernie Palma said: "We got ambushed. We just sashayed into the canyon and they were firing from both sides."
