Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Aberdeen Ironbirds and Vermont Lake Monsters.

Aberdeen turned a good effort from starter Vince McMillion into a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Ripken Stadium. The Ironbirds won the game, 5-1. McMillion got the win, improving to 3-6. He gave up 1 hit and walked 4 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run.

The Ironbirds got a big at-bat from right fielder Shane Pendleton. For the game, Pendleton was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Aberdeen a 3-1 lead.

"Winning never gets dull," said Pendleton.
