ValleyCats Stumble, Lose 13-7 to Muckdogs
The Batavia Muckdogs defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats, 13-7, in part because of center fielder Ed Ezzo. Ezzo was 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Muckdogs. The winning pitcher was Robby Blaine. He tossed 101 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The Muckdogs, at 18-31, sit in 5th place in the Pinckney Division.

With Batavia leading 9-4 in the bottom of the eighth, Ezzo batted against Tri-City pitcher Jessie Olsen. Ezzo hit a slider to center for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Muckdogs on top, 13-4.

Muckdogs manager Randy Conrad wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
