Cyclones Beat Black Bears, 3-1
In a low-scoring affair between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the West Virginia Black Bears, pitcher Mike Knoblock was the difference between victory and defeat. The Brooklyn left-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Cyclones win. Knoblock got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 11 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Knoblock allowed 1 run. With the win, Brooklyn upped its record to 41-9.

Brooklyn used a well-timed hit by Willie Alfonso to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll enjoy this hot streak as long as it lasts," said Knoblock.
