Tigers Win with Late Rally
The Connecticut Tigers had to overcome a big game from Auburn second baseman Josh Cipolla to leave Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6, in 10 innings. Cipolla went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. By defeating Auburn, the second-place Tigers improved to 27-23.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alvaro Trevino in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Glen Townley to win the game for Connecticut. The home crowd went nuts.

"We had a chance to win," said Auburn manager Maxwell Judson, "but we didn't get it done."
