Nate Dickel pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The State College Spikes, despite Dickel's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Hudson Valley Renegades at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Hudson Valley pitcher Dave Frausto earned the win, hiking his record to 4-5. Nate Dickel suffered the loss. John Campbell earned save number 6 this season.

Hudson Valley used a clutch at-bat from David Harbold to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Renegades ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Harbold.

Hudson Valley is now 18-31, while State College is 32-18.
