Yankees Deal Crosscutters 9-1 Setback
The Staten Island Yankees and starting pitcher Matthew Berning stifled the Williamsport offense en route to a comfortable 9-1 win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. At 28-22, the Yankees are currently second in the McNamara Division.

The Yankees got a big hit from center fielder Tony Herrera. Facing Williamsport pitcher John Irvin in the bottom of the fifth, Herrera pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 5th home run of the season put the Yankees ahead, 8-1.

"I had everything working," said Berning.
