Riding the 3-hit performance of the 22-year old shortstop Daniel Wright, the Connecticut Tigers defeated the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 5-2. Carlos Payan got the save, the 3rd for him this season. With the victory, the Tigers upped their record to 29-22.

The Tigers had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 5-2, Connecticut, with one out. Aberdeen, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Rick Whyte dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 knuckle curve, he flied out.
