Aberdeen and Lowell got after it at Ripken Stadium.
With center fielder Josh White leading the charge, the Aberdeen Ironbirds defeated the Lowell Spinners, 7-5, at Ripken Stadium. White was 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times. The first-place Ironbirds have a record of 30-21.
Had Ramon Soto not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Soto hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Ironbirds.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said White.
