Auburn Rallies Past Lowell, 4-2
|
The Lowell Spinners got a superb performance from pitcher Ricky Herrera. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Auburn. The Doubledays won the game, 4-2. Herrera threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Jose Loya came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Pedro Hernandez earned save number 2 this season.
Auburn relied on the hitting of Jorge Ruiz to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Doubledays on top, 2-1. For the game, Ruiz had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Ruiz.
Auburn has now won 4 straight.
