Muckdogs Get Clutch Win, 2-1
The Connecticut Tigers wasted an inspired, 7-inning effort from starter Miguel Gandara, falling, 2-1, to the Batavia Muckdogs in 10 innings at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The win went to Dario Banda in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Allen Cheney took the loss. The Muckdogs, at 31-21, sit in second place in the Pinckney Division.

Batavia used the timely hitting of Tony Torres to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Muckdogs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Exhilarating win," said Torres.
