Both offenses were relatively subdued at MCU Park. Fortunately for the Brooklyn Cyclones, though, Chris Ramos was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2, to lead his team past the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-2. The defeat makes Vermont 14-38.

Had Terry Bibeau not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Bibeau hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cyclones.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Vermont manager Dana Joseph. "We just didn't cash in."
